Johto, evolved for v2.0
Pokemon Heart & Soul
Johto never had an official Game Boy Advance adventure. Pokemon Heart & Soul is our answer: the world and memories of Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver reimagined in the colorful Gen 3 style. v2.0 makes the journey richer with a fuller Pokégear, refreshed areas and more freedom to play your way.

The big v2.0 changes
More of what makes Johto feel like Johto.
Phone calls, radio shows, familiar puzzles and a journey that keeps opening up after the League are all part of Johto’s personality. v2.0 gives those details more room to shine.

Pokégear rematches
Swap numbers, get calls and head back for rematches or items.

Full Pokégear radio
Tune into Crystal-style stations and keep the music playing as you explore.

Better ice puzzles
Strength boulder puzzles replace the old reaction-time bike sections.

Adjustable challenges
Shape the run you want, then revisit settings later within the in-game limits.

A new foundation
A bigger v2.0 needs more room to grow.
Heart & Soul now runs on pokeemerald-expansion. The technical change matters because of what it lets us bring into the game: a reworked Kanto, all 92 HGSS TMs, the GB Player and the wider v2.0 feature set. It also means older saves cannot carry over.
- Overhauled Kanto maps and tilesets.
- New postgame content.
- All 92 HGSS TMs.
- GB Player support for Gen 2 music and sounds.

The Pokégear feels like Johto again
Calls, rematches and items—the Pokégear matters again.
Register trainers and hear from them when they are ready for another battle or have an item waiting. It brings back one of those small GSC details that made Johto feel less like a checklist of routes and more like a place you were traveling through.
If you would rather explore without incoming trainer calls, you can switch them off.
